Courtauld 2025

WRAP's Courtauld 2025 is an ambitious voluntary agreement that brings together organisations across the food system – from producer to consumer – to make food and drink production and consumption more sustainable. At its heart is a ten-year commitment to identify priorities, develop solutions and implement changes at scale – both within signatory organisations and by spreading new best practice across the UK.

Courtauld 2025 was launched in March 2016 and FDF was proud to add its's name, alongside other leading organisations, to the ten year commitment to reduce the resource intensity of the UK's food a drink by one-fifth by 2025.

As an engagement partner, Courtauld 2025 acts as an enabler and route to support the delivery of FDF's vision and ambition. As part of our Resource Efficiency Ambition, FDF and its members will make a contribution to Courtauld 2025 targets across CO2 Emissions, Food Waste and, following further work by WRAP, for Water. This would be separate from, and be independent of, individual member engagement with Courtauld 2025. Through our contribution to Courtauld 2025, we will also endeavour to engage with consumers to influence behaviour, initially on food waste, to help people get more value from the food and drink they buy.

FDF has worked with WRAP on the previous Courtauld Commitments and since 2011, according to WRAP analysis, food and drink manufacturers have achieved a 200,000 tonne reduction in food waste.
