The pupils were challenged to design a healthy new burger suitable for sale in a local butcher shop and encouraged to explore the areas of; new product development, different cooking methods, nutrients in food, marketing and promotion and careers and job roles to support these activities in the industry.

Developing a partnership with Agrico Ltd., the Scottish based seed potato company was an ideal partnership that helped a class of pupils extend their knowledge and understanding of the food and drink industry “from farm to fork”.

Meat and sausage manufacturer Charcuterie teamed up with their local primary school to challenge around 50 primary seven pupils to set up their own companies and run a profitable business.
